Tintagel village, Cornwall
Tintagel is known to many as the legendary home of King Arthur. How accurate this fact is may be open to debate. The village, known as Trevena (Cornish: Tre Venydh) until Victorian times, has many interesting locations, not all linked to Arthurian legend. Highlight of the area include the Norman castle on Tintagel 'Island', Trebarwith Strand, walks along Rocky Valley and across Glebe Cliff to Boscastle. The whole area is well worth a visit and Tintagel is a great place to use as a base to tour the North Cornwall area.
