St Juliot village, Cornwall
St Juliot is a small village on the cliffs about four miles northeast of Boscastle in North Cornwall. The novellist Thomas Hardy met his wife Emma Gifford at the small church here and there are many references to the landscape of the area in his book A Pair of Blue Eyes, where he called the village Endelstow.
At the foot of the valley runs the River Valency, one of the three rivers that converge in Boscastle causing the great flood on 16th August 2004.
The area around St Juliot is an excellent place to use as a base and discover all that this part of North Cornwall has to offer. High Cliff, Crackington Haven and Pentargon Waterfall spring to mind as places to visit as well as the better known tourist areas around Boscastle and Tintagel.
