Polkerris village, Cornwall

The small coastal village of Polkerris lies roughly midway between Par and Fowey on the south Cornish Coast in Mid Cornwall.

Polkerris is in the parish of Tywardreath, (Cornish: Chi war Dreth. Tywardreath has had a number of different spellings over the years. It appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Tiwardrai. The name possibly means 'House on the Strand'
