Lanreath, pronounced Lanreth, comes from the Cornish: Lannreydhow; meaning is 'Church site (lann) of Raydhogh'. Also known as Lanreythow, Lanrathew, Lanrethou, the village lies north-west of Fowey and is a very pleasant village.
