Lanner village, Cornwall
The name 'Lanner' originates from Lannergh, meaning 'a clearing' in Cornish. The village has also been known as 'Lannarth'. Lanner lies about a mile southeast of Redruth Redruth on the main road to Penryn. A former mining village, Lanner is now a shadow of its former self. Above the village lies Carn Marth ('hill of horses') - with its disused quarry.
