Golden Lion Hotel

The inn dates back to the 14th century and is the oldest inn in Padstow. Ideally situated about a 1 minute walk from the quay. The Golden Lion is the stable of the Old 'Oss which, on the 1st May each year dances through the streets of Padstow to the sound of drums and accordions. 'Obby 'Oss, as it is known, is one of the oldest festivals in Europe. Some former Padstonians travel from all over the world to be apart of it. The Metropole has the best views across the fishing harbour of Padstow and the camel Estuary. The hotel offers you the choice of a single room with Estuary views and a standard twin or double or either room type with an Estuary or Harbour view at an additional cost. The hotels AA rosette Restaurant offers excellent food and service and with a fantastic view of Padstow harbour across to Rock. Bookings are strongly recommended for dinner. Padstow has more in more recent times been put on the map by Rick Stein and his Seafood Restaurant is situated directly below the hotel with a special set of steps that goes between the hotel and Ricks Steins Restaurant. The Met is the ideal location to base yourself and to explore all the delights that Cornwall has to offer. Walk or cycle the Camel trail which starts at the bottom of the hill from the hotel.
