Dining Out in Isles of Scilly, Cornwall

Boat Shed, Isles of Scilly

Map showing Boat Shed, Isles of Scilly

Enjoy the wonderful views of Samson, Bryher and Tresco from our Seafood Café Restaurant situated on the beach at Porthmellon, overlooking the Harbour of St Mary’s, on the Isles of Scilly, in what used to be the old boat shed. Relax in the sunshine on our new enlarged decked area. Then retire to the beach and hire a traditional deck chair (you know, the ones that you always wonder how to put up!), or hire a wind break and enjoy our ice cream cornets/take away coffee, tea, hot chocolate on the beach. The children can run wild, whilst you can keep a close eye from the deck. They can enjoy our beach toys; cupet car and tractor – and swing ball or twister for us older ones. On a rainy day, you can sit in and the children can find entertainment with our selection of games, including Connect 4, Snakes and Ladders and Snap.

Dibble & Grub, Isles of Scilly

When you have a meal cooked by Button, it will be delicious. The Bistro just keeps getting better and better. If you only go to one restaurant on St. Marys make it Dibble & Grub, you wont be disappointed. The staff are friendly, helpful, know not only the menu but the food as well (it's always worth knowing if the staff would eat there) and willing to be flexible with the menu. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who asked. Not only wonderful food, but an amazing view of the beach and sea as well.

Situated just above Porthloo Beach, 15 minutes from Hugh Town, (just below St. Mary’s Golf Course), one of the islands’ most loved establishments is enjoyed by day visitors, holiday makers and locals alike, many of whom come back time and time again. The restaurant has beautiful, terraced outside seating as well as a large and warm converted barn loft for the cooler days or evening dining.

During the winter and spring of 2006, a major new development saw the opening of The Balcony Room. The Balcony Room (completed Spring 2006) is a stunning addition to the traditional barn conversion that forms the body of Juliet’s Garden. The Balcony Room can seat 20 people in bistro style comfort whilst offering panoramic views from all tables. The room can also be booked for private parties and exclusive dining.

Open during the summer months and adorned by a magnificent vine, the Conservatory restaurant is light and airy.
