Sam, Fowey

Map showing Sam, Fowey

As soon as you walk through the door of Sam’s you get a feeling of fun. The building started life as a merchant’s house dating from circa 1380 and you can see an original stone wall which is exposed and forms one side of the restaurant. The décor of the restaurant is 60’s style and has a pink and green colour scheme with intimate booths. The vast array of memorabilia of pop music adorning the walls is for sale and together with the background music helps to create a very relaxed atmosphere. Twenty-one years on and whilst burgers still feature prominently on the menu with twelve varieties to choose from including beef, fish and vegetarian varieties these have been joined by an abundance of fresh fish dishes.

The Cormorant, Fowey

Map showing The Cormorant, Fowey

The Cormorant Hotel is an independent luxury Hotel, which nestles on a hillside, high above the glorious River Fowey, in the quiet village of Golant. Enjoy Breakfast or Dinner in our Restaurant, looking out across the River. We almost regret the stunning views in case they detract from our superb food. The Restaurant is open to non-residents, but reservation is essential. In fine weather eat on the terrace, immersing yourself in the breathtaking sights and sounds of the River Fowey. When the evenings get cooler a wood burning stove transforms the restaurant. Our team of Chefs, headed by Martin Adams, produce a sumptuous Menu, and take great pride in choosing the best that Cornwall produces in fish, meat, game and cheeses. Add our Award Winning Wine List, and our attentive staff, and you have a dining experience to savour.

Welcome to The Toll Bar. Its aim has always been to use the best of the season's produce to steer the carefully selected menu and wherever possible get people to try food that they would not normally choose.
