Three miles east of Polruan on the south coast of Cornwall lie a number of small beaches and coves making up Lantivet Bay. The best beach of the group of coves is at Palace Cove. Part of the Gribbin Head to Polperro Heritage Coast, the south facing beach is seldom crowded and consists of a mixture of sand and shingle.
Bathing and swimming is safest on an incoming tide although the rocky seabed may be hard underfoot.
There are no facilities at Palace Cove, no safety equipment and parking is in the small car park at Frogmore Farm, capacity about 40 cars, where the nearest toilets are located, about half a mile away to the north. Dogs are permitted all year round.
There are fine walks along the South West Coast Path, west towards Lantic Bay and Polruan or east towards Lansallos Cove and Polperro.
