Mawgan Porth is a large west facing sandy beach situated mid-way between the larger resorts of Watergate Bay and Bedruthan Steps on the North Cornwall coast between Newquay and Padstow.
The beach lies sheltered between high cliffs and is backed by low dunes. It is cut at its southern end by the St Columb Canal, actually the mouth of the River Menalhyl.
A wide range of accommodation can be found in Mawgan Porth from holiday lets riht through to the classy Bedruthan Hotel and Spa or the luxury Scarlet Hotel and Spa.
There are fine walks along the South West Coast Path south towards Watergate Bay and Newquay or north towards Trevose Head and ultimately Padstow.
Newquay Airport lies about five miles inland at St. Mawgan.
