Kenneggy Sands

Kenneggy Sands beach, Cornwall

Kenneggy Sands lies on the south coast of West Cornwall, roughly halfway between the town of Marazion, near Penzance and the village of Porthleven, Helston.

Kenneggy Sands is a crescent shaped south facing beach of golden sand and a few pebbles lying roughly halfway between Praa Sands and Prussia Cove.

There is a large pay and display car park here that can become crowded in summer.

Care should be taken as the beach is quite flat and hardly shelves at all meaning that as the tide comes in, it does so rather quickly and it is easy to find yourself with wet feet or cut off by the tide!

For keen geologists, on the western end of the beach there is evidence a large copper lode structure exposed, part of the former Grylls Mine as well as some folded strata apparent in the cliffs.

Please take heed of the speed of the tide here and DO NOT get cut off by the tide!

Accommodation nearby includes the Kenneggy Cove Holiday Park although there are other options at Praa Sands, Prussia Cove or inland around Helston.
