Helford Passage is a narrow strip of patchy sand and fine shingle situated on the northern shore of the picturesque Helford River, on the east of the Lizard Peninsula. It is a popular destination for the yachting fraternity but is also popular with locals and visitors who seek out its charms. South east facing, the beach lies close to the fine West Cornwall gardens of Trebah and the National Trust Glendurgan, just to the west lies Porthnavas Creek and the popular Budock Vean Hotel and Golf Club.
There are some excellent walks along the northern shore of the Helford passing Durgan, Porth Saxon and Mawnan Shear on your way to the beautiful Mawnan Church. Further along the South West Coast Path lies Rosemullion Head and ultimately Maenporth and Falmouth.
Just across the river lies the larger settlement of Helford Village with its facilities, toilets and car parking. The South West Coast Path continues east to Dennis Head, before heading west to St. Anthony-in-Meneage and Gillan Creek. The east coast of the Lizard Peninsula stretches ahead of you and is, as expected, both picturesque and great for walking.
