Hannafore

Hannafore beach, Cornwall

Hannafore beach lies immediately west of the town of West Looe on the South coast of Cornwall. It offers a good view of St George's Island a mile or so offshore.

There are two coarse sand and shingle beaches lying below Marine Drive: Hannafore Beach and, just to the south west, Wallace Beach. Hannafore has a great selection of rock pools to explore whilst there is some great snorkelling over the reefs at Wallace Beach.

The coast path runs west from Hannafore towards Talland Bay, Polperro and Fowey. To the east lies Looe, Seaton and the lesser known beach of South East Cornwall.

Hannafore is often overlooked by visitors in favour of the sandy beach at East Looe.

There is no safety equipment or lifeguard cover at these beaches, but swimming is possible with care at Hannafore and Wallace Beaches

PLEASE NOTE: The small beach at the mouth of the Looe River is positively dangerous for swimming

Dogs are allowed all year round.

All the usual facilities are to be found in the twin towns with East Looe offering a wide variety of boat trips for locals and visitors alike.
