Otherwise known as Gillan Cove, Gillan Harbour lies on the east coast of the Lizard Peninsula in South Cornwall.
Best reached along the South West Coast Path, Gillan Harbour lies about half mile south of the Helford River on the southern bank of a small creek opposite St. Anthony in Meneage.
A north-facing mixture of sand and shingle, Gillan Cove is not really a swimming or snorkelling beach. It is often frequented by travelling boat owners.
There is no parking or other facilities here, the nearest being at Helford and Manaccan. Gillan Harbour beach is dog friendly, with dogs permitted all year round.
There are good walks west along the river bank towards Manaccan or northwest over Dennis Head to Helford Village. About one and a half a miles east lies the rocky Mên-aver Beach with further walks available along Lestowder Cliff leading to Nare Point and the rest of the Lizard Peninsula.
Please be aware of the state of the tides if you wish to cross the river here.
