Eastern Green and its westerly neighbour Chyandour beach make up two of the three beaches of Penzance. The third beach is Long Rock which abuts Marazion Beach in the east.
At high water Eastern Green beach is largely shingle but as the tide retreats a mixture of sand, silt and fine shingle is uncovered. Chyandour Beach has no beach at all at high tide but at low water the beach consists of a mixture of fine sand and shingle.
There is no safety equipment at either beach but swimming is possible on a high tide.
Dogs are allowed all year round. Toilets are located at Long Rock or at the car park adjacent to the Penzance railway station.
There is a fine level walk, suitable for all, along the back of these beaches all the way from the railway station to Marazion Green and St. Michael's Mount with refreshment available at the mid-point at Long Rock beach.
