Booby's Bay and its adjoining Constantine Bay lie just to the south of Trevose Head, near Padstow on the North Cornish Coast.
West-facing, the beach is completely covered at high tide but when the tide goes out it uncovers a wide beach with rock pools for younger members of the family to explore. At low tide the beach joins with Constantine Bay to the south to make one big beach.
Due to its westerly aspect, the beach often bears the brunt of Atlantic swellls, making it a popular destination for dedicated surfers.
There is lifeguard cover from the middle of May until the end of September and safety equipment is located behind the beach.
Swimming is only possible when and where indicated as safe by the lifeguards. Do not attempt to swim at Booby's Bay if there is no lifeguard cover. These waters can hide dangerous rip currents.
Note: Amateur surfers are NOT encouraged here as they may find it too challenging or even dangerous.
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.
